Moving to a new studio has been something in the back of my mind for a while now, but I’ve been putting it off for a number of reasons. Mainly the fact that I’ve put so much time and energy into this one over the past several years and I’d hate to just throw that all away. But sometimes when you don’t make a decision it gets made for you. So the day I arrived at the studio to find that the building owner was planning to gut and renovate the entire building to make fancy new apartments I wasn’t entirely shocked, but I wasn’t exactly prepared. So here I am now starting over with a new studio, and the more I think about it the more excited I get. The new building is a considerable upgrade and I get to start with some fresh ideas. It was just the kick in the butt I needed. I have a vision for this place and I intend to use every nook and cranny to the fullest.
The first order of business was figuring out how I wanted to use the new space, and that has sparked quite a bit of creativity. I decided to go for it and create 2 permanent backgrounds. Next I’ll be installing some wood flooring and addressing window treatments, because (that’s right) I HAVE A WINDOW NOW! I’m so extremely stoked about that!
I’ll post updates to my progress as I go along. And keep an eye out for the first shoot in the new studio. It’s coming very soon…
A couple quick test shots of me looking my absolute best just to try it out. I’ll be doing an actual shoot soon, once everything is in order.
